Referrals to Grace Psychiatry

A Collaborative Psychiatric Resource for Your Patients

Thank you for considering Grace Psychiatry for your patient or client.

Grace Psychiatry provides thoughtful, evidence-based psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adolescents and adults ages 13 and up throughout Virginia.

My goal is to provide high-quality psychiatric care that complements the work you are already doing with your patient, not replace it.

When a Referral May Be Helpful

Grace Psychiatry may be a good fit for patients who need:

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation or diagnostic clarification

  • ADHD evaluation and treatment

  • Psychiatric medication management

  • Evaluation of anxiety, depression, or other common psychiatric concerns

  • Medication consultation when symptoms are not responding as expected

  • Psychiatric support while continuing psychotherapy or primary care

  • A more specialized psychiatric assessment when additional diagnostic expertise is needed

Particularly Helpful for ADHD Referrals

ADHD can present differently across individuals and may be overlooked when symptoms are attributed to anxiety, depression, stress, personality, or other factors.

Grace Psychiatry provides a thorough clinical assessment that considers the patient's developmental history, current symptoms, functioning, psychiatric history, and relevant differential diagnoses.

The goal is not simply to determine whether someone meets criteria for ADHD, but to develop a clear understanding of what is contributing to their difficulties and what treatment approach is most appropriate.

Collaborative Care

Psychiatric treatment is often most effective when clinicians work together.

With appropriate patient authorization, Grace Psychiatry welcomes communication with referring therapists, primary care clinicians, and other members of the treatment team.

This may include:

  • Sharing relevant diagnostic impressions

  • Coordinating medication treatment

  • Discussing treatment recommendations

  • Communicating significant changes in clinical status

  • Supporting continuity of care

Patients can continue working with their existing therapist while receiving psychiatric care through Grace Psychiatry.

Who I Serve

Patients ages 13 and older

Grace Psychiatry serves patients throughout Virginia through telepsychiatry, with in-person appointments available in Herndon, Virginia.

The practice is particularly well suited to patients seeking individualized, private-pay psychiatric care and who value a thorough, relationship-based approach.

What to Expect

After a referral, the patient will complete an initial screening to determine whether Grace Psychiatry is an appropriate fit for their needs.

If appropriate, the patient will then schedule an initial psychiatric evaluation.

The evaluation focuses on understanding the patient's symptoms, history, functioning, previous treatment, and goals. Treatment recommendations are developed collaboratively and may include medication, psychotherapy recommendations, behavioral strategies, or additional evaluation when indicated.
